GRAIN BIN DOOR CONVERSIONS
 
 
 

GENERAL INSTALLATION TOP DOWN

  1. Center top tie bar flush with the top of the door frame and clamp in place.
  2. Drill pilot hole with tech screws and drill 5/8 holes.
  3. Bolt tie bar in place with 5/8 bolts with nuts outside.
  4. Clamp top panel side rail snuggly below and secure with tech screws.
  5. Center the middle tie bar below the rails, snug up and clamp in place.
  6. Drill pilot holes and enlarge to 5/8".
  7. Bolt in place with wing bolts and wing nuts.
  8. Clamp auger side rails snuggly below and secure with tec screws.
  9. Center bottom tie bar below the rails, sung up and clamp in place.
  10. Drill pilot holes and enlarge to 5/8".
  11. Bolt in place, nuts on the outside.
  12. Install auger chute and adjust chute side rails to seal against chute sides.
  13. Tech screw tabs on the middle bar nuts to the frame.
  14. Fill the remainder of the opening with the old door panels and seal as required.

    To install from bottom up just start at 12 and go to 1.

  1. Install the door kit from the bottom up, use inside holes.
  2. Door hinges are in the way of the side rail. Remove them and drill through the rails to reinstall them.
  3. The butler top panel can be cut horizontally to fill in the top opening. Seal and secure wit tec screws.

  1. If door frame starts at ground level slide some panels in to raise the door opening to the desired height and go up from there.
    If door frame starts half way up the bottom sheet, start there and go up.
  2. Use the outside set of holes in the tie bars.
  3. The side panel retainer needs to be cut out to accommodate the tie bars.
  4. The side rails will fit beside the retainer.
  5. Fill the remaining opening with the old Butler slide panels.
  6. Seal them and tech screw them into place.
  7. Cutting can be done easiest by using a small grinder with a cutting disk.

  1. Slide some door panels into the frame to raise opening to the desired height. Go up from there.
  2. The slide panel retainer needs to be cut out from the bottom of the bottom tie bar to the top of the middle tie bar.
  3. Use the inside set of holes in the tie bars.
  4. The top panel side rails will fit beside the retainer.
  5. Cut out the retainer to accommodate the top tie bar.
  6. Cutting can be done easiest with a small grinder using a thin cutting wheel.

  1. Use the inside set of holes in the tie bars.
  2. On the 2 tier door start at the top and work down.
    On the 3 tier door leave the bottom tie bar in, fill the opening below it with slide panels. Start from their and work up.
  3. The top tie bar has to be cut into the frame.
  4. The top panel side rails will not be needed the frame will accommodate the top panel of the kit.
  5. The frame will have to be cut from the top of the middle tie bar to the bottom of the bottom tie bar.
  6. Fill the top opening wit the slide panels.
  7. Cutting can be done with a small grinder and a thin cutting wheel.

  Read Instruction before Purchasing a kit for this door
 
  1. Start at the top and work down.
  2. Cut off outside hole of the middle and bottom tie bars.
  3. Cut down 1" vertical tab on the top of the door frame, giving you mor clearenc under you auger chute.
  4. Cut the side down to 1 1/4", the top panel side rails will then fit beside the frame with the top panel clearing the cut.
  5. From the top of the middle tie bar to the bottom of the bottom tie bar cut down to a 1/4 ".
  6. Many of the frames that have been stiffeners on one side only have a bent frame on the other side, cutting the frame to accomadate can only make it worse. To make it work the frame will need to be Straightened out and held with a stiffener.

  1. Remove slide panel retainer.
  2. Start door kit at the top and work down.
  3. Use outside hole in tie bars.
  4. The inside holes will need to be plugged as well. Use duct tape to close them.
  5. Use old slide panels to close the opening below the kit.
